(Worthy?)The battle is real
We often struggle with finding worthiness. It may be a competitive spirit between siblings, a rivalry at school, or a struggle at the office. But, over this journey we call life, we often feel that we fall short when it comes to feeling worthy. Unfortunately, society seems to breed this state of mind. Many feel conditioned to accept or even embrace this lie that we are no good or have no value.
We see our flaws. We know our shortcomings. But, we devalue our abilities when we start comparing ourselves to others. We find commonality in this area because many of us wrestle with this subject. None of us are exempt in this battle. Life and those around us can make us feel very low or not worthy of anything better.
Scripture tells us our worth to Him
In my Scripture time, I read something that, while I have read many times, truly spoke to my heart. I wanted to share this with everyone regardless of where you are today. Regardless of what you are struggling with or going through, please hear the message of this Passage from Romans 5:6-8.
“Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t and doesn’t wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway.
We can understand someone dying for a person WORTH dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. BUT God put His love on the line for us by offering His Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.”
Our Challenge
If you read these words, please take a moment to reflect and then reread them. Understand this truth. In your worst condition, at your lowest place, Jesus died for you. In other words, at the most unworthy point of your life, Jesus died for you. Embrace this truth, and wrap your mind around this truth.
Take time today to find your worth in Him. You are most valuable in His eyes. He loved you enough to give His life so that you may live, not just now, but forever. Thank Him, live for Him and allow Him to change your heart. The invitation is to all: Jesus said FOLLOW ME.
We find direction (follow) and destination (Me) in those two words.
Let today be your day. Call out to Him and say, “Yes, Lord, I will follow; I will go where You say go and continue to seek Your path for my life. In You, I find my worth. I no longer remain in bondage to sin; I no longer see myself as worthless because I am Yours.”
May this little note of encouragement bless you today and find a heart in need. While the path before us may not always be rainbows and sunshine, we can know that Jesus walks with us every step of the way and will never fail us.
Hold to His unchanging Hand and never let go.
