Sole Responsibility
The word “life” is known for the hot chasm of rhetoric in our culture that has divided people either for life or against life. This post is neither. This is because God’s word is not up for debate and cannot be debated. We either believe the Bible, or we don’t. It’s that simple. God Himself granted women the sole responsibility to carry and bring life to fruition. Mothers are God’s partners for life! Mother’s Day is that special time to celebrate who women are and not just what they do so well.
God’s Plan
God Himself is the Author of life and He had a plan on how He wants to execute His plan for life. To do this, God created man in His own image. Genesis 1:27, states that, “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created Him, male and female He created them.” After God created all things, including male and female, God saw that everything that He had made, was very good (not just good). In Genesis 2:7, we see the power of the Author of life. The scripture states, “And the LORD God formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the “breath of life” and man became a living being.” God had a plan for all He created. God had a plan for man and He also had a plan for the woman.
The Distinct Call
In Genesis 3:16, we see the distinct call God placed on the woman. It states, “To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children.” All through the Bible, this uniqueness of the woman stands. There is no other place in the Bible that the Author of life shared the responsibility of conception with anyone else. God gave this solely to the woman.
Human with a Womb
From the Bible, we can see the connection on why life begins at conception. A woman is the only human being with a “womb” that can bring forth children and carry that life to fruition. When we look at the celebrity world, we see surrogate mothers at work helping to carry life for someone else. A surrogate mother still has to be a woman- a human with a womb and the capacity to conceive life and carry that life to fruition.
Despite Science Advancement
I love science and have taught science at different levels back in my days in the classroom. In fact my undergraduate degree is in microbiology. In other words, science is not a stranger to me. Despite all the advancement in science, it still remains till today, that the woman is specially gifted by her Creator to conceive life and carry that life to fruition. It does not matter the hot chasm of rhetoric in our culture, only women have a womb that can conceive and carry life. God made that decision that mothers will be His partners in fulfilling His plan for life. And He gave women wombs to execute His plan.
Today And Everyday
Not just on this Mother’s Day, but every day, let’s celebrate the uniqueness of women. Their capacity to conceive and carry life to fruition is unparalleled. In God’s plan of things, this is a big deal. So whether that date is May 14 as in the USA, or February 12 as in Norway, or March 14 as in the United Kingdom, or May 10 as in Mexico or August 12 as in Thailand, we celebrate mothers as God’s partners for life. Happy Mother’s Day!
